An introduction to Willeve Office Services

Willeve Office Services (WOS) is a trading name of Willeve Limited (Registered in England & Wales Company no. 12067675) and is run by me, Ian Mulcahy.

I have worked in an office environment for over 30 years performing administration roles, systems analyst roles and programming roles, often combining all three. I have a strong track record of identifying processes where efficiency savings can be made and delivering those savings by designing and building a solution using a programming language called Visual Basic for Applications, VBA for short, which is embedded in the Microsoft Office suite and enables Excel, Word etc. to be transformed into powerful tools. Some examples from my past:

A quotes and settlements system that I designed whilst working for a well known international Insurance Company which automatically created the full suite of client correspondence from a simple policy number input and correspondence selection. Not only did this enable the department for which it was created to reduce staffing numbers by over 50%, giving management the bottom line return that they wanted, it also resulted in standardised high quality documentation and the elimination of simple user errors.
A 'Document Production Centre'. This was commissioned by a department at the same Company which administered legacy records that were not computerised. Multi page client documentation was a manual affair which involved entering the same information into the documentation multiple times which is both time consuming and tedious, so a system was designed whereby administrators could follow a series of selection choices before entering each relevant piece of information only once, letting the system create the full output. Similar time efficiencies were recorded and documentation was once again standardised giving customers a sense of familiarity.
Advanced bulk calculation programs for the pensions industry which use raw member data and rate tables to automate calculations and create and print standardised member output for hundreds of policy holders at a time at the press of a button.
Various data manipulation applications to convert incoming data into a format suitable for the receiving system.
Multiple applications for my own personal use, ranging from data extraction and manipulation for my own accounts (meaning I can complete my personal tax return in 10 minutes each year) to the automatic creation of webpages for my photography (meaning I can create a webpage containing 100 photos in 2 minutes, rather than the 2 hours or so that it previously took - see www.iansapps.co.uk for links to my photograph pages, which have all been created in a standard format using my code writer).
I have written, and market, a program called FileLister which interrogates user specified locations on your computer and reports on the files contained within that location, with an option to change the filenames. As a sometimes paid photographer who takes upwards of 30,000 photographs a year, the ability to rename my picture files quickly is vital. Renaming 1,000 photographs the normal way would take even an experienced computer user over two hours and be incredibly tedious. With FileLister I can do this in under 2 minutes. Whatever repetitive office tasks you have to perform, in whatever industry, I can almost guarantee that I will be able to design a solution to simplify your process. Of course, there is no benefit in doing so without a cost/benefit analysis and this will always be carried out - there is no point commissioning software that will take 10 years to pay for itself, but if I can provide something that will pay for itself within 1-2 years, or less, and show clear time profit beyond that, then why wouldn't you commission me to do so?
